CONHS Surgical Technology program director Jill Stroud, BS, CST introduced five medical students from A.T. Still University's Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine (KCOM) to operating room sterile technique procedures. The procedures, taught in the College's surgical technology laboratory, included gowning and gloving (taught by OR personnel), proper technique for the use of waterless scrub, and open glove technique.
In the third and fourth years of medical studies at KCOM, students participate in clinical rotations in one of the College's national rotation regions, which include Missouri and rotations at SoutheastHealth and St. Francis Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
