Jerry Durham to Lead the College

Dr. Jerry Durham has been appointed by the Southeast Missouri Hospital College of Nursing and Health Sciences Board of Trustees to serve as Interim President of the College.
Prior to being appointed Interim President, Dr. Durham served for more than twelve years as chancellor of Allen College in Waterloo, Iowa. Allen College offers degrees in nursing and health sciences and is closely affiliated with UnityPoint Health. Dr. Durham previously served as director of the School of Nursing at Illinois Wesleyan University; executive associate dean at Indiana University School of Nursing; and dean of nursing and vice chancellor of academic affairs at the University of Missouri-St. Louis.

Dr. Durham is a registered nurse and earned degrees in medical-surgical nursing (Saint Louis University) and psychiatric community mental health nursing (University of Illinois-Chicago as well as a master's degree in English (Bradley University). He holds a doctorate in higher education administration (Saint Louis University). He is also a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University (SEMO) where he completed a bachelor's degree in secondary education. Dr. Durham received SEMO's College of Education's Alumni Merit Award in 2016.

Dr. Durham is a U.S. Army veteran. He is married to Dr. Kathleen Durham who is a retired dentist.
