LPN to RN Program Eligibility Requirements

To complete the application process for this Associate of Applied Science in Nursing Degree program, an interested person should submit:

  • a completed application with a $100 nonrefundable application fee,
  • an official high school transcript or equivalent,
  • any college or university transcripts,
  • a record of current immunizations including two measles, mumps, rubella (MMR); chicken pox, oral polio, hepatitis B; diphtheria, pertussis, tetanus (DPT) – childhood record and tetanus within last 10 years.
  • transcripts from LPN school attended,
  • current LPN license (a current license must be maintained on file throughout the program).
  • A Graduate Practical Nurse must submit a current license to the College within 90 days after graduation from LPN school.
  • The applicant must take the *NLN Mobility Profile I Exam (Foundations Exam) and score a 75% or better. The exam can be scheduled at the Cape Girardeau Career and Technology Center.
  • The applicant must submit to a criminal background check and achieve clearance on the Division of Aging Employee Disqualification List (EDL).
  • Submit a copy of driver's license.

* An international student must successfully complete the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL).

These are minimum admission criteria and do not guarantee admission to the nursing program.

Applicants are required to satisfactorily complete a health history. In addition, an admission tuberculosis screening and drug screening is required and may be followed by random drug screening.
